Er spürt sie in einem englischen Landsitz auf, wo eine Verwechslung für jede Menge Komik und Spannung sorgt. Der Roman erschien erstmals 1919 als Fortsetzungsroman im Saturday Evening Post.

Später wurde er als Stummfilm, Bühnenstück und Musical mit Fred Astaire adaptiert.
